On a bright and sunny day in early June 2003, The Dragon Flies took to the Scugog River. Headed upstream, they paddled almost continuously for 7 hours until they reached a predetermined destination to rest overnight. Covering 27 miles in two legs of a charted course, the team arrived in Port Perry the following day as part of the annual Canoe The Nonquon event. Many well-wishers and spectators welcomed the team as they entered Port Perry harbour!
